Mitra Desa is an application for village information systems. The application was designed with the objective of supporting village governments in the delivery of public services quickly, easily and transparently. This application constitutes a breakthrough in village administration and data management as well as in the provision of social services in a timely and appropriate manner.
Mitra Desa has been developed by Infest since 2011.The initial development of the application was related to Infest’s advocacy efforts regarding the issue of labor migration. Infest concluded that the issue of labor migration required the involvement of the village government. Consequently, Infest attempted to develop an application that could document labor migration from villages.
The necessity of documenting labor migration patterns was addressed by Infest through the development of a village-level information system application, with the objective of assisting the village government and improving the delivery of services to the community.
At present, the application is at version 2.1 and offers multiple features, including:
- Data management and village resident administration
- Management of village government and services correspondence
- Creation and presentation of village profiles
- Presentation of poverty data at the village level
- Recording of population events (births, deaths, population movement and international labor migration)
- Village asset data collection
- Statistical presentation
- Participatory village financial data administration (planning, budgeting, administration, reporting)
- Open surveys
- Integration of village financial data with third-parties or middleware. This middleware can be installed alongside regional servers to combine village financial data
This application can be used by the village government to improve the standard and quality of public services at the village level. Visit: https://www.mitradesa.id for more comprehensive information.
